Software Support
- Unfortunately, due to hardware limitations Pace TDS850NB, Samsung HDSKY/HDSKY500 & Amstrad DRX780 Sky+HD boxes will no longer receive any new branch versions of software. (A branch version is denoted by the first section of the software release number, for example R012 is branch version 12)
- This means that anyone with one of the above mentioned Sky+HD boxes will not receive any future software updates on those boxes, that add any additional features or enhancements to the Sky Guide.
- If you have one of the above mentioned Sky+HD boxes and would like to still benefit from any future features or enhancements to the Sky Guide then you will need to upgrade to a newer Sky+HD box, such as a DRX890 or DRX895 Sky+HD box.
- These boxes can be purchased new directly from Sky as well as from third party companies such as Satbuyer. However, you may also wish to purchase one second hand as they can be picked up reasonably cheaply from sites such as eBay.
Changes to DR streams
- Because no new software is being rolled out for Pace TDS850NB, Samsung HDSKY/HDSKY500 & Amstrad DRX780 Sky+HD boxes, the DR streams for these boxes are no longer active.
- Unfortunately, this means that it is no-longer possible to force update the software on these boxes. However providing you leave the box plugged into the mains and connected to the satellite dish. The box will eventually update automatically to the latest release of software available for it.
- This is because Sky periodically re-send the automatic update to help ensure legacy boxes are running the latest release of software available for them.
